Department of Medical Education

General Information:

Fırat University Faculty of Medicine Department of Medical Education was established in 2001. Within the Department, there are PBL rooms, vocational skills laboratory and skills training classroom for student education.

Trainings Given:

At the Knowledge Level;

As the learning objectives of the Department in undergraduate education before graduation, students;

1. To be able to define learning methods in medical education,

2. To be able to list the importance of doing research,

3. To be able to interpret how physician-patient communication should be,

4. Feedback lessons aim to help students classify the method of giving feedback and interpret the feedback received.

Skill Level ;

In medical skills courses, with the awareness that the applications to be made on models will form the basis for real patient applications, students, starting from the first year;

1. Social and surgical hand washing,

2. Wearing and removing sterile gloves and using personal protective equipment,

3. Measuring body temperature (Apical – Radial),

4. Pulse - Blood pressure measurement,

5. It is aimed for them to be able to practice the skills of establishing vascular access and applying fluid therapy.

Services Provided:

1. Coordination of the preparation and evaluation of scenarios used in problem-based learning is ensured,

2. Analyzes the exams used in measurement and evaluation methods in Term I, II and III and announces them to the relevant internal stakeholders,

3. Clinical skills training of medical faculty students is carried out and organized in the Professional Skills Laboratory,

4. Vocational skills training guides are being prepared,

5. Faculty member and student feedback regarding the training program is collected, evaluated and announced.
